Kazakhstan secures Asian Boxing Championship medal with knockout win

Madira’s opponent in the quarterfinals of the U-19 category was Vietnam’s Thi Hong Yen Nguyen.

The first two rounds were closely contested, but in the decisive stretch, the Kazakhstani boxer knocked her opponent down, forcing the referee to stop the fight. As a result, Zhumakan won by technical knockout.

It should be noted that under the tournament rules, no third-place bouts are held at the Asian Boxing Championships, meaning the Kazakhstani athlete has secured at least a bronze medal.

As a reminder, this year’s Asian Boxing Championships in the U-19 and U-23 categories among men and women are being held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 3 to 16. Kazakhstan’s national team is represented at the tournament by 39 athletes.
