On the first day of the competition, 22-year-old Vassilyev emerged victorious, scoring 258.4 points over two rounds to beat Austria's Jakob Steinberger (236.6) and Poland's Jan Galica (236.3). Fellow Kazakhstani Ilya Mizernykh finished fourth with 231.3 points.
On the second day, both Kazakh athletes reached the podium: Mizernykh claimed gold with 267.4 points, while Vassilyev took silver with a score of 259.8. The bronze medal went to Austria's Jakob Steinberger (244.5).
Notably, during his winning performance, Danil Vassilyev soared 109 meters, setting a new hill record.
"I woke up this morning and called my dad. He told me the record here was 107 meters. I told him I’d set a new one, and that’s exactly what happened. The jumps were good—the hill was great, and the wind was perfect," the Kazakhstani athlete said after his historic flight.

Who are Mizernykh and Vassilyev?
Both Ilya and Danil have already made history for Kazakhstan in ski jumping.
At the recent Olympics, Mizernykh achieved the best result ever for the country in this discipline, finishing in eighth place.
