Another medal: Kazakh track and field athlete wins Asian Games silver

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan national team athlete Kristina Morozova has won a silver medal at the 20th Summer Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan.

The press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported this on Wednesday, September 23.

The Kazakh race walker finished second in the race walking event, posting a result of 1 hour, 35 minutes and 25 seconds.

Morozova’s silver added to Kazakhstan’s medal tally at the main continental sporting event of the four-year cycle.

Athletics competitions at the Asian Games are continuing. Kazakh athletes will compete for medals in other disciplines on the program.

As a reminder, Kazakhstan’s national team earlier overtook South Korea in the Asian Games medal standings and broke into the top three. The day before, Kazakh athletes won two gold and two bronze medals, allowing the team to move up to third place in the Games medal standings. Kazakhstan had 12 medals: six gold, one silver and five bronze.

After Kazakhstan overtook South Korea in the standings, only Japan with nine gold medals and China with 28 gold medals remained ahead.

The 2026 Asian Games are taking place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, and will run until October 4.
